SENSITIZATION OF EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY

AGTSD provide regular training and seminars on sensitising the general public about the East African Community at the low level income areas in urban and rural areas of Kenya. AGTSD in collaboration with Ministry of East African Community and Ministry of Trade conduct sensitization programme to enhance the objectives of East African Community at grassroots level to empower small scale entrepreneurs particularly Women in cross border trade.

The EAC aims at widening and deepening co-operation among the Partner States in, among others, political, economic and social fields for their mutual benefit. To this extent the EAC countries established a Customs Union in 2005 and a Common Market in 2010. The next phase of the integration will see the bloc enter into a Monetary Union and ultimately become a Political Federation of the East African States.
